Post 11
I wouldn't say that my writing process has necessarily changed since I have started the semester, but I am more conscious about my writing. Before I started writing about the same topic I would just write and be done with it. Now, since all of my information is linked together I feel myself reading over what I'm typing and I can pick up my tendencies. I've noticed that I use commas a lot to connect fragments and that I use the same words a lot. I don't think that any problems came about from my writing process but I did have some problems with the annotated bib because it was something that I had never done before. I have done a works cited but never added extra information. Putting the summary with the website was a little vague because I would try to put only the information that I thought was important and initially my summaries were vague and needed to be more detailed to entail how I was going to use it. I wouldn't say that any of the assignments were unexpectedly easy, but after I got feedback from my rough drafts, it was a lot easier to rewrite and make the final draft. The reason I write is because it is really easy to observe, but it isn't easy to remember everything. I like to write because not only does it put the facts down on paper, but it helps me to understand. If I type something out that I don't really understand I can just go back and reread until it makes since. It is a lot easier to understand something, for me, in writing than by hearing. Also, I write information down that I know I will need. If I am on a particular subject that I know I had something written about, I can just go back and then my memory is triggered back to that and it is a lot easier to portray. Although it isn't anything life changing or dramatic, I hav found myself writing more via email. Before I came to college, I never sent emails. Now, I send them to everyone. From telling my mom a story to sending surveys to students, I write a lot more frequently. I think that I'm going to write more in the future whether it is just emailing or gathering information or even writing out a speech.
